Registered Education Therapist
Gregory Wong's main interest lies in behavior management, achievement motivation, dynamic assessment, cognitive development as well as children counseling. Gregory holds Masters in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College, Boston, USA. His scope of work spans from working with mainstream school going kids to children with Hearing Impairment, Dyslexia, Attention Deficient Hyperactive Disorder Autism and Global Development Delay. He has been the Supervising Mentor to the Special Needs Officers since the National Institute Education (NIE) launched its Diploma in Special Needs Education in 2005. Gregory has completed his Diplomas in Dyslexia Studies and Teaching and Training offered by the Cambridge University UK. He is also trained in the Orton Gillingham Approach to deal with Oracy, Literacy and Language. He has also taken up the role of an Education Advisor in Teachers' Training as well as a Curriculum Design in programmes like Writing Skills (Preschool, Primary and Secondary) and Oracy. Separately, Gregory is particularly interested in helping children with social integration challenges so to embark onto a path of self discovery and social awareness, one that will ultimately bring them to meaningful friendships, shared emotions and heartfelt connection with people in their lives. As a forward looking practitioner, he uses Solution Focused Counseling in areas like children counseling as well as helping adult clients take ownership of their problems so as to move forward with their lives. He is certified as a Solution Focused Brief Therapist. As a very pro-family person, Gregory spends time with his family of 3 boys and never forgets his love for the mountain trekking and outdoor activities.
